Mandala Weekly Classes

This is an 8-week course that explores the process of creating a mandala, step by step.

Working on the mandala once a week for a couple of hours allows you to fully experience the benefits of mandalas – every step, like every moment in life, offering a different experience, like joy, for example, followed by attachment or challenges. As we flow from one state to the other, we become aware of ourselves and how we relate to our artwork.

These weekly classes are like dates with ourselves: through our mandala, we can experience ourselves, develop our awareness, enjoy some mindfulness, work through some inner processes, all in a gradual way. You will learn to paint with watercolours but also a few tricks to give the artwork depth through shading and lighting by using other mediums, such as gouaches and coloured pencils. Please note that this is an 8-week commitment; it is not possible to make up classes.

Workshop FAQs

No. As mandalas are based on a geometrical structure that unfolds through a precise technique, no previous artistic experience is necessary.

All materials are included in the workshop price, so you only need yourself and a packed lunch (for all day workshops) and snacks you would like to have through the class. We recommend dressing in comfortable clothes and in layers if possible.

We’ll mainly use gouache to paint our mandalas as it’s an easier medium to get familiar with, especially for people with no painting experience. Depending on the workshop or class you choose to attend, we can also use watercolours or colouring pencils to highlight shades and points of light.

Yes, to make sure everyone receives individual attention, workshops and classes are capped at ten people.

There is no minimum age to attend our workshops, however the work is targeted to people who are interested in exploring their creative abilities and in getting in touch with themselves.

While this may exclude children, young people who are motivated and open to this exploration are most welcome.

To discuss a young person’s attendance to one of our courses and workshops please contact us.

It depends on your pace and on the type of class you choose to attend. Our weekly evening workshops are structured like classes and usually go over eight weeks, which should give you ample time to finish your mandala. Our weekend workshops are like mini-retreats and include more than just drawing and painting, so there is a chance that you may not finish your mandala in this setting.

Yes. An early bird discount is available for our weekend workshops or mandala mini-retreats, as we like to call them. Please refer to the Book Now page for pricing.

As the venue requires final numbers 10 days before the event, no refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 10 days prior to classes. A full refund will be provided if workshops cancellations take place more than 10 days prior.
